Dell launches Latitude 13 “education series” laptops

Computer giant Dell on Thursday introduced the world to its new education-geared range of laptops called Latitude 13, which can efficiently withstand the common knocks & tumbles to which school children often subject their devices.

Available immediately with starting price tag of $539, the Latitude 13 laptop features a 13.3-inch screen that offers a resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. Processor options range from Intel's Celeron Dual Core chip all the way to a powerful Core i5.

LG to unveil curved smartphone G Flex next month

Renowned consumer electronics giant LG is preparing to LG G Flex curved smartphone sometime next month, fresh reports suggest.

Images of the much-rumored flexible LG smartphone, released recently online, shows that the upcoming device will boast six-inch OLED panel. However, neither hard specs not pricing of the screen was revealed. The precise date of availability of the device is also yet to be revealed.

LG is not the first company to introduce a curved smartphone. Rival manufacturer Samsung has already introduced the world to its curved smartphone - the Galaxy Round.

LG launches Optimus F5 in France

South Korean electronics giant LG has announced the launch of the Optimus F5 smartphone in France, and said several other markets, including Commonwealth of Independent States, South & Central America and Asia will get the new handset over the coming few weeks.

The Optimus F Series is family of Android OS-based smartphones that boasts LTE connectivity as well as affordability. The F5 handset features a 4.3-inch IPS display, 1.2 GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor and a 2,150 mAh battery.

HP unveils Android-based Slate 7 tablet

Announcing its re-entry into the mainstream tablet space, Hewlett-Packard (HP) on Sunday unveiled a new Android-based tablet called the Slate 7.

The Slate 7, which is the computer giant's first tablet release since the botched Touchpad tablet, runs Google's Android 4.1 OS and features a 7-inch screen that offers a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels. The manufacturer claims that it performs well outdoors as well.

It comes equipped with a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, 8 gigabytes of storage, a 3-megapixel photo snapper at its back and a VGA camera on its front for video chat.
