The number of plug-in car registrations in Germany in the month of May 2021 grew more than 300 per cent year-over-year, making the segment to represent nearly a quarter of the entire market.

Mercedes Benz India supports SIAM’s position on Indo-EU FTA in auto sector

The Indian arm of German luxury auto giant Mercedes Benz has declared that it supports industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers' (SIAM's) position on not including automobile sector in the proposed free trade agreement (FTA) with European Union.

Mercedes Benz India said it might opt to make its Chakan-based facility as an export destination in case the proposed FTA with European Union takes effect for the automobile sector.

Mercedes-Benz unveils small CLA

Renowned German luxury brand Mercedes-Benz on Sunday introduced its forthcoming CLA small sedan to the world, ahead of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA, which has been designed keeping up-&-rising Generation Y buyers in mind, is slightly smaller than the existing C-Class.

But, while the C-Class remains a conventional sedan, the new concept car features swoopy curved-back looks. The C-Class is the smallest car that Mercedes sells in the United States.

Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG: at a glance

Mercedes-Benz has put its new Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG car on display at the Motor Show in Sydney.

It is the first Mercedes-Benz AMG that comes with the new 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8. The new Mercedes-Benz CL 63 AMG features a sleek new body, with a long and low profile and an aggressive new front bar.

The car has traditional AMG vents inserted into the front corners, while the rear features typical quad exhaust outlets surrounded by the big rear diffuser.

Trial Race of SLS AMG GT3 to be Held on Famous Nürburgring Racetrack

As a part of the development and testing program, the first racetrack appearance of the SLS AMG GT3 will be done at the VLN event.

The race will be of four-hour duration on the famous ‘Nordschleife’ (‘North Loop’) of the Nürburgring racetrack. The main purpose will be to test the gullwing model under practical racing conditions.

The model will be checked for the durability in all parts and service-friendliness. The suspension setup will also be checked during the race on the 20.8-kilometre long racetrack, which is considered to be the most legendary racetrack in the world.

U.K. Fair Trade Office Investigates Suspected Cartel Activity in UK

Britain’s antitrust regulator is reported to have initiated probing into suspected cartel activity among commercial vehicle makers in the UK.

The investigation is claimed to center on some of the major truck manufacturers in Europe including Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz unit. In addition, the probe embroils Fiat SpA’s Iveco unit, Scania AB and Volvo AB’s subsidiaries Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks.

As per the recent reports, the OFT has recently jumped in the UK offices of Mercedes-Benz trucks at Tongwell near Milton Keynes in southeast England for investigation purposes.
