Bwin Denies Rumors of Merger Talks with PartyGaming
Rumors of PartyGaming and Bwin being tied in advanced merger talks have been floating around for quite sometime now, with the both the parties denying the speculations. Bwin Interactive Entertainment has now come out more specifically to say that it is not involved with any merger talks with any suitors, including the rival PartyGaming.
However, the firm did say that it is always open to more sector consolidation.
Rumors, however, have not managed to go away with the statement as people continue to speculate that any day now, the giants would come out to say that they have merged. On Sunday, a British newspaper had reported that the two firms are in talks to join together and form a group worth 2 Billion Pounds.
Both the online gambling groups are equally powerful and have similar market capitalization, with PartyGaming boasting a worth of 1.1 Billion Pounds, and Bwin that of 1.3 Billion Euros.
"We are always talking to everyone, because we believe that there will be more consolidation in the sector. (But) we are not in any advanced talks, including with PartyGaming", said a Bwin spokesperson.
