Ukraine Tension and Closed Markets Push Asian Stocks Lower

Tensions mounting in Ukraine and the signs of sluggish growth in China as well as the doubt about the timing when the U.S. Federal Reserve would begin tightening the interest rates have battered the markets globally during the past few weeks. Janet Yellen, the Federal Reserve Chair's last week's encouraging comments though helped pacify some wrecking nerves.

63 Children Hospitalized at Yevpatoria Children's Clinic

As much as 167 pupils in School No. 12 in Yevpatoria, Crimea depend on the school canteens for lunch. And yet again, some more junior school children are said to have been infected and diagnosed with some kind of acute intestinal infection after they happened to eat from the school canteen.

These children were immediately hospitalized at the department of infectious diseases at Yevpatoria Children's Clinic, where now, almost sixty-seven children are undergoing the same kind of medical treatment.

Tymoshenko Withdraws Lawsuit

Accusing the judicial system of the nation of being non-trustworthy, Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has withdrawn her legal appeal against the election of her rival Viktor Yanukovich to the presidency, on Saturday.

"It has become obvious that it is not a court and it is not justice", she said.

"It remains for us to prepare for February 25 when the new president will take his oath", said Olexander Lavrinovich, the first Deputy Speaker of Parliament, who represented Yanukovych in the court.
