At the Losail International Circuit on Sunday, the season-opening Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix was won by Yamaha Factory Racing rider Jorge Lorenzo who snatched the lead off Australia's Casey Stoner - the defending MotoGP title holder - with only three laps left, to sail past the victory post.

On Saturday night, Poulsbo, Washington-based Kawasaki star Ryan Villopoto achieved his sixth AMA Supercross win in this season's first 11 rounds. The victory, witnessed by a massive gathering of 59,872 fans at Lucas Oil Stadium, came after Villopoto held off Justin Brayton at the event.

The Open 2010: Louis Oosthuizen quick to catch Rory McIlroy on second round

Louis Oosthuizen became the surprise leader this morning after his remarkable putting saw him get birdies on the 5th, 6th and 7th ensuing in a one-shot lead over Ulsterman McIlroy. McIlroy was previously leading Oosthuizen by 2 shots.

The play started today, with the Old Course not offering much of a challenge to the golfers with hardly any wind. Oosthuizen, with a 6.41 start, grabbed the opportunity with both hands and made full use of the gentle conditions to star with 4 pars and then the birdies followed at the 5th, 6th and 7th.

Seidenberg Extends Contract with Bruins to 4 Years

Ice-hockey team Boston Bruins proclaimed on Saturday that German defenseman Dennis Seidenberg is going to extend his contract with the team to four years.

Seidenberg joined the Bruins by leaving Florida Panthers in March and played 17 games for the team, scoring two goals and nine points.

"For the short period of time that I played with the guys, it was a lot of fun. Going on the ice in front of a sold out building every night, I think made the difference", said Seidenberg.

Beckham handed over England 2018 World cup bid

The international football star David Beckham has submitted the 1752 pages bid book to the FIFA. He has anticipated that his country England can be the host of FIFA the 2018 World cup. On December 2nd this year, FIFA will announce the name of the host countries for 2018 and 2022 World Cup. The other bidders for this event are Australia and Russia.
