Japanese auto major, Toyota has announced that it will participate in the Le Mans in 2012 with a new hybrid racing car model.

Toyota’s petrol/electric hybrid will compete in the top category, LMP1 with the likes of Audi and Peugeot. The car will be powered by a hybrid powertrain unit, which is built by Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan and will come in a chassis developed by Toyota Motorsport in Germany.

The UK arm of famed automaker Toyota has announced two new variants to the top end of the Yaris range that will go on sale in January.

Both of the new comers, viz. the T Spirit and the SR, are based on top-selling TR trim, and will be launched with special price tags.

The new Toyota Yaris T Spirit will come equipped with an integrated TomTom satellite navigation system. Other striking features of the T Spirit include Bluetooth, USB connectivity, climate control, rear parking sensors, eight-spoke alloy wheels and chrome surrounds for the front fog-lights.

Japanese Auto major, Toyota is planning to launch a special edition of its Prius model to mark its 10th anniversary in the UK.

The company will produce only 1,000 units in the limited edition, which is based on Toyota Prius T-Spirit. The car will come with a special body kit, 17-inch smoke-finished alloys, privacy glass and black leather interiors. It will also feature a 10th anniversary logo.

Toyota is reported to have announced a voluntary recall for more than 1.5 million vehicles across the world in a bid to address a brake fluid leak. The company has claimed that the flaw can result in a gradual decrease in the performance of the braking system.

The automobile giant has claimed that majority of cars called under the voluntary recall are in US and Japan.

The flaw is reported to result in leaking of the brake fluid from the brake master cylinder, which lights up the brake warning lamp.

The sales of automobiles in the United States of America came out with better results as compared to the previous year. The Japanese auto manufacturer, Toyota Motor Corp., has revealed that it is planning to recall around 400,000 sedans manufactured between 2000 and 2004 and around 80,000 Land Cruiser sport utility vehicles.

The decision has come in the wake of separate steering problems in the Avalon sedans as well as Lexus.

This figure has surpassed the sale of Honda's fuel-efficient Fit. Fit secured second position, as it sold 15,955. The list was released by the Japan Automobile Dealers Association on Tuesday.
