Starbucks to Offer Free Wi-Fi Connection from July 1

Starbucks, the coffee house, has proclaimed that it will provide free Wi-Fi connection to the visitors from July 1. The Company will introduce a new network for the purpose, called Starbucks Digital Network, in collaboration with Yahoo and some other similar sites.

The Company said that the network will provide information of local relevance, which will be hard to find on other networks. It said that both the Wi-Fi connection and the information will be provided to the customers for free.

Starbucks joins Foursquare to see how popular it is

Coffee maker Starbucks has teamed up with Foursquare to get feedback from customers.

It was announced that frequent Starbucks visitors who would check in at retail locations via Foursquare would get rewards.

However, it should be noted here that there is no financial reward or free coffee to begin with for the winners.

Customers will be able to unlock the ‘Barista badge’ after five times check in.

The coffee maker is using Foursquare to see how popular it has become.

Starbucks raises outlook after posting fiscal 4Q results

World's leading coffee-shop operator Starbucks Corp. increased its 2010 profit forecast after reporting a jump in its fiscal fourth-quarter profit.

Starbucks said it earned $150 million during the three months ended September 27, up from $5.4 million in the same period of 2008.

Per share net income stood at 20 cents as compared with 1 cent in the year-ago period.

However, the sales plunged 4 per cent to settle at $2.42 billion.

Coffee giant Starbucks unveils two iPhone Apps

Coffee giant Starbucks has unveiled two iPhone apps. The first app is called myStarbucks, which will provide GPS capability to find the nearby stores, to get information about ingredients and calorie in beverages available at Starbucks.

The second app is called Starbucks Card Mobile will let balance check and refilling of Starbucks gift cards. However, this feature is presently available only in 16 West Coast stores.
