Nissan recalls 19,258 SUVs over faulty brakes
Submitted by Karan Randhawa on Sat, 04/20/2013 - 10:50Japan-based Nissan Motor Co. on Friday confirmed that would recall 19,258 sports utility vehicles (SUVs) from model years 2012 and 2013 in the United States to fix a potential glitch in the vehicle's brake system.
The recall includes the 2013 Pathfinder and the Infiniti JX vehicles manufactured between December 2012 and January 2013 in Smyrna, Tenn.
The front brake torque member in the concerned vehicles improperly cast, which may cause structural weakness and lead to untimely failure & cracking. It may increase the risk of a crash.
Nissan to unveil new Note at Geneva Motor Show

Nissan's new car, which has been dubbed as the first of a wave of "bold new models," will be manufactured at the company's Sunderland plant in the UK.
Designed by Nissan's Technical centres in the UK and Spain, the car will directly target the likes of Ford's best-selling Fiesta.

The company updated aerodynamics and interior of the GT-R. The host of changes includes modification in the twin-turbo V6 engine. Its power has been enhanced to 523bhp at 6400rpm while the torque climbs to 451lb ft from
3200 to 6000rpm. The new 2011 model is claimed to be environment friendly, thanks to its ultra-low metal catalyst and tweaked boost pressures that help in reducing emissions and improving fuel economy.

Renault-Nissan Appoints Jim Press as Consultant

Jim Press, 63, was the first non-Japanese who was appointed in the Board of Directors for Toyota. He has worked with Toyota for a long period of 37 years.
After Toyota, he worked with Chrysler LLC as its Vice-President.
"He's visited with our dealers in the States, Europe and Japan and has already begun providing substantial input", said Simon Sproule, the Director of Communication.

Nissan to create 400 new jobs at Sunderland plant in Britain
Submitted by Monica Sahu on Fri, 01/29/2010 - 08:19Japan’s Nissan Motor Co announced on Thursday that it would generate 400 temporary new jobs along with retaining as many as 160 temporary jobs at Sunderland plant in Britain to meet rising demand for the Qashqai model.
The fixed-term manufacturing jobs are required as a night shift will be added to the Qashqai production line, which is scheduled to start in May.
Sunderland plant operated on two shifts over the course of previous year, but more jobs are needed now as demand is outpacing supply.
Nissan kicks off Leaf’s 22-city US tour
Submitted by Simrat Kang on Sat, 11/14/2009 - 07:04Nissan, Japanese automaker, kicked off electric car Leaf's 22-city national tour in the US and announced that it would begin taking reservations for the new vehicle in the spring.
Nissan's CEO Carlos Ghosn said that the new battery-car will cost almost the same as a similar-size gasoline-powered car. However, consumers will have to pay a separate monthly fee to lease the Leaf's lithium-ion batteries.
Carlos Ghosn further said that the company would make money on the new vehicle despite the cost of its launch.
