Flappy Bird creator deleted the game because it was too “addictive”

Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen has said that he had pulled the game from Apple's App Store because it had become a problem and ruined his simple life.

The free gaming app was No. 1 across all app stores until it was deleted. It was reportedly generating at least $50,000 per day through advertisements until it was pulled out of App Store.

In an interview with Forbes, Nguyen said Flappy Bird had become an addictive product. He found that sort of overnight success overwhelming and he could not sleep.

Sony sells over 1 million PS4 consoles within 24 hours

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that it sold more than 1 million units of PlayStation 4 (PS4) in North America within the first 24 hours of the Japanese entertainment giant’s newest videogame console’s launch on Friday.

PopCap Games’ Plants vs Zombies 2 hits 25 million downloads

Plants vs Zombies 2, a game from PopCap Games, has so far scored 25 million downloads, despite the fact that the game is neither available on Android or PC.

What is more striking is that the iOS-exclusive game was launched just around half a month back on 15th of August.

It means, the game has outshined the total number of lifetime downloads of its predecessor Plants vs. Zombies tower defense game, which was released in 2009, in less than a month.

Activision shows off COD: Ghosts multiplayer capability

Activision has revealed new details of its Call of Duty: Ghosts videogame, which is scheduled to be released later this year.

The publisher is the multiplayer action capability of the upcoming game, which a claim that the new game would continue the tradition of offering unrivaled gameplay and most engaging entertainment experience.

Eric Hirshberg, chief executive of Activision, said, "Call of Duty set the benchmark for the current gen and that's exactly what we're aiming to do for the next generation."

Ubisoft all set to release Rayman Legends playable demo

A playable demo of Rayman Legends will be released via Microsoft's Xbox Live and Sony's PlayStation Network on August 14, videogames developer and publisher Ubisoft has announced.

The soon-to-be-released demo, which will provide gamers a glance into the videogame's Invasion Mode, will reportedly contain three levels from different stages in Rayman's quest.

Announcing the playable demo, Ubisoft also revealed, "Playable maps include Teensies in Trouble and A Toad Story, along with their Invasion Mode counterpart level, and a fan-favourite musical map themed to the song Black Betty."
