According to an international authority on death and dying, if a person grieves for more than two weeks then it's a medical condition. American Psychiatric Association's new diagnostic manual, DSM 5, is expected to be published in May.
The manual will allow a diagnosis of depression in cases of mourner feeling sad for more than two weeks. This manual is practiced in many countries like Australia, New Zealand etc.
