Spending during the holiday season is sure to be low for the current year, as has been proved by a recent survey, 54% participants of which said that they were not ready to hike their spending just as yet, still hurt by the economic downturn. But online shopping this year is expected to hit it big, and not only because cyber retailers are known to offer bigger and better discounts.
Among shoppers who are trying to look for bigger discounts, squeezing Christmas shopping into their busy schedules and preferring to not go to large public places where lots of people gather from the fear of swine flu, online shopping is sure to be a hit. Sitting in front of the computer and clicking to get all gifts and shopping delivered right at the doorstep is expected to take the cake, and a heavy shopping population, away this season.
To attract even more customers, online retailers have come up with the innovative Cyber Monday, which will come the weekend after Thanksgiving and Black Friday, and is aiming to lure even more buyers than the traditional discount day.
Giant online sellers like Amazon and Target will offer the Cyber Monday discounts this year, and even retail stores will not be left behind with online units of Wal-Mart, Best Buy and many others offering promotions on their own discounts on the Monday.
