Rent A Friend, a US-based service that rents out friends has been launched in the UK.

The new service will allow users to hire a friend for an innocent date for 6.50 pounds per hour.

Rent A Friend has already proved to be a big success in the US, where its has more than 2,000 users who pay $25 per month to get access to a database of 218,000 friends available for hire.

Friends for hire offer themselves to be taken to family gatherings, social events, cinema visits or meals out.

RentAFriend. com states, “Whether you are looking to hire a friendly companion to attend a social event or party with you, someone to introduce you to new people, or someone to go to movie or a restaurant with, RentAFriend. com can help.”

Scott Rosenbaum, the New Jersey-based founder of RentAFriend. com said friends are available to be hired for taking them to snow boarding, going to bar, gym or even for Yoga.

Mr. Rosenbaum added that the service would expel those who will try to offer sex or the promise for a more meaning full relation.
