Switchover earmarks from Skriaig
Switchover earmarks from Skriaig

A few days back the work on Skriaig transmitter in Scotland, as part of the digital switchover programme being carried out by Digital UK commenced.

In case of the households who are still running on the analogue TV signal, this initial stage indicates that BBC 2 has been stripped off the air. It comes as a warning threat as the complete signal is about to be shut down permanently and the householder needs to take a step in lieu of the provisions to move over to digital TV.

As far as facts are concerned the Skriaig transmitter offers the following listed relays: Scoval HP, Scoval VP, Penifiler, Duncraig, Attadale, Kilbride South Uist, Uig, Ardintoul, Tarbert Harris, Bruernish, Inverarish and Kylerhea.

However it was stated that the switchover will soon be over latest by the end of the month.

And this will mark the beginning of another phase where the entire analogue TV signals are switched off permanently and digital TV takes over.
