Flying Car Approaching Soon
Flying Car Approaching Soon

Imagine if cars had wings, they definitely would fly like birds. Well! Do not leave that to imagination, because that just might happen in the beginning of the approaching year.

The Company, Terrafugia, which is based in Woburn, Mass., says that it plans to deliver its car-plane, the Transition, to customers by the end parts of 2011.

In the recent times, it has been able to clear a major hurdle when the Federal Aviation Administration granted a special weight limit exception to the Transition.

It is the next vehicle, which will be a craze amongst all, said Terrafugia Vice President, Richard Gersh. Ferrari can be bought by anyone, but they do not have the capability to fly up high, in the sky.

The Transition is a long way from cartoon dad, George Jetson's flying car rocketing above traffic, or even the thrilling, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

There is no launch button on the instrument panel, Gersh noted.

In its place, the car-plane has wings that unfold when it needs to fly, which is a procedure the company says takes one minute. It folds back when the car needs to be driven. A runway is still necessary to take off and land.
