ShopTo calls on Microsoft to lower Kinect’s price as preorders very low

The Xbox 360 Kinect is available for preorder on UK retailer ShopTo, which has listed the device at £124.86.

ShopTo has called on Microsoft to slash the price of Kinect amid fears of low sales. The device has a Recommended Retail Price of £129.99, with a launch date of November 19.

According to Eurogamer, ShopTo's chief executive Igor Cipolletta said that US pricing for the device is $149, but the its price in the UK is too high. He said that the device should be priced at around £70 in the UK.

Speaking on the topic, he said, "It's too high. We believe that with this current economy it should be around £70. For £140 you can buy a Wii."

He added that the retailer was registering very lower pre-orders for the device than expected.

Microsoft is yet to confirm whether the listed price for the device currently used by the retailer would indeed be the actual launch price or not.
