Poon’s Trial Seeks Justifications on Sixth Case of Molestation

The trial of the Saskatchewan doctor, Dr. Edward Poon, who has been held under the charges of molesting six of his patients, is being pursued, after the confirmation of 5 of the allegations.

On Tuesday, the judge said that he has delivered his verdict on the 5 charges. However, the prosecution of the sixth one is going on.

"There's only one count that we're working on, and it is close, but it's slow", said a forewoman.

The hearing will be recommenced on Wednesday. The prosecution was put off on Tuesday due to the prolonged power cut in Regina.

The jury member was made to move to different court rooms.

Poon’s attorney explained that his client was a simple and innocent doctor, who sought the benefit of his patients. On the other hand, the prosecution claimed that he went off his limits.

Since the last three weeks, more than 6 women have alleged that Poon tried to take advantage of them, while conducting the treatment.

One of the victims alleged that as she went for the treatment for a persistent pain in her ear, the doctor took unnecessary pleasure in touching her.
