Senate Proposes Reduction in Medical Fee Cut Rates
Senate Proposes Reduction in Medical Fee Cut Rates

In view of the warnings coming in from the doctors that they will withdraw the treatments for a majority of the patients if the medical fee cut is imposed upon them, the Senate has now proposed a plan to avoid the reduction in the fee.

As per the initial proposal called doc fix, the medical fee was supposed to be reduced by 21%, saving at least $6.4 billion for the Government. But, the healthcare professionals have been threatening that if the cut is implemented, they will not treat those who will lack in their medical insurance plans.

This has raised concerns in the Senate, as the move will severely affect the elderly people in the nation.

Senate Finance Committee Head, Senator Max Baucus, said that the legislation is the need of the hour, as the nation is already spending more than required amounts on the medical upkeep of the citizens.

"We've done it without adding to the deficit, and I think that is something both sides can feel good about", said Senator, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

The Senators have now proclaimed that they would reduce the rate in the fee cut, and the revised plan will be functional until the next 6 months.
