Karate Kids Received Well At Box-Office

The latest version of the movie Karate Kid did brisk business after opening last week at the box-office. Even though two lead characters, Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi, are not present in the latest version, it got a good response from the audience.

The new film stars Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith in the lead role and has already done business worth $56 million. The movie’s Director, Harald Zwart, is very happy with the reception it has received at the box-office. He was also surprised with the movie’s opening and thanked the fans for their support. He admitted that he never thought that the movie will enjoy such a grand opening.

He attended the movie screening over the weekend and was excited to find so many people. Even though most of the audiences were strangers, they seemed to like the movie and were certainly fans of martial arts.

The Director admitted that he was nervous and under a lot of pressure before the movie’s release. But he feels that now he can relax.

Already talks of a sequel are doing the rounds. Even though Zwart admitted that a sequel has been discussed, nothing has been finalized till now. He felt that there was a good chemistry between Jackie and Jaden which was appreciated by the audience also. The Director conceded that he wants another sequel like the two earlier sequels.
