Orange unveils eco-friendly phone-charging boots

Orange has discovered a new way to charge a mobile phone while walking. It has come up with a pair of eco-friendly waterproof phone-charging boots that use heat liberated by feet to charge the device.

The Orange ‘Power Wellies’, which have been created in partnership with renewable energy firm GotWind, feature a power-generating sole embedded with a bunch of thermoelectric modules that are capable of turning heat from user's feet into power.

Orange said the Power Wellies would be very useful for people visiting areas that lack reliable power supply such as a music fair and concert, where the heat produced by the dancing would power phones. The new charging device would suit people who work tirelessly on foot.

Heat produces by feet by twelve hours of walking can power the phone for one hour.

The Orange Power Wellies will be showcased at this year’s Glastonbury music and art festival.
