H1N1 Pandemic Reported to be Exaggerated by WHO

A new combined report concerning H1N1 pandemic was published in the British Medical Journal and the Bureau of Investigative Journalism. This report casts a shadow over the perceived effects of the pandemic. The report also reveals the fact that there was a clash of interest amid the World Health Organization advisors and their monetary ties with pharmaceutical companies.

The report discloses that the pandemic was blown out of proportion in order to create panic. Also, it says that the WHO did not reveal about such clash of interest.

The article has been written by BMJ Features Editor Deborah Cohen and journalist Philip Carter from the nonprofit, London-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism. They said that the selfish interests of some people made WHO a false pandemic.

The fake pandemic was instrumental in increasing the sales of the vaccines manifold. Another group called the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has also accused WHO of squandering away large amounts of public money.

Dr. Stephen Keener, of the Health department, says that WHO may do away with the pandemic status by the next month. He further adds, "The seasonal influenza vaccine this year will contain H1N1 in it". Therefore, there will be no need of separate H1N1 vaccines this year.
