Food Tampering Cases Reported

People in Toronto are being warned to inspect the food packages before buying them. People especially need to be careful about buying Polish sausages. Three food tampering cases have already been found in the month of May. In all these case, people found a needle stuffed inside sausages they bought at their local grocery store.

In all these cases, people brought their food from Pillers Polish Sausage at No Frills stores. While two of the cases were reported from the store at 372 Pacific Avenue the third was from the store at 2,187 Bloor Street West.

Police are reminding shoppers across the city to remain cautious and carefully check the packaging on food products for signs of tampering. In case anyone suspects that their food is tampered, they are advised to hold on to the food item and immediately call the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
