Police Searching for Serial Pharmacy Robber

Winnipeg Police is searching for a robber who has robbed two pharmacies on Tuesday afternoon.

The robberies tool place at Drugstores on London Street and Watt Street. In both cases, the male suspect entered the store with a handgun, stole an undisclosed amount of prescription pills.

The first holdup took place at around 2:30 p. m. when the officers were called about a robbery in the 500 block of London Street.

A man armed with a handgun had entered the pharmacy and demanded prescription drugs, said the police. The suspect received a number of pills and fled from the store.

Then, about three hours later, police were called to a pharmacy in the 700 block of Watt Street.

A suspect pulled out a handgun and once more demanded prescription drugs. The suspect left the store after receiving an undisclosed amount of medication.

Police said they believe the same man committed both robberies. They have also described the male is white, about six feet tall and has a slim build.

However, there were no reports of any injuries in either robbery.
