Briton who tried to place a pre-order for Apple’s iPad since last night will not be able to get the unit of the much-awaited device until June 7th, ten days later than the previously announced date of May 28th.
However, those who pre-ordered earlier will still get iPads on the previous mentioned date, May 28th.
Earlier, Apple had announced that iPad would hit nine international markets viz. France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, Canada, Spain, Switzerland and the UK on May 28th.
Reports suggest that iPad demand continues to greatly surpass supply, which compelled the company to delay UK shipping date for iPad. But, a spokesperson for Apple assured that they were trying their best to meet demand.
Apple will make six versions of the iPad available in the UK. The WiFi only 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models will be available for £429, £499 and £599 respectively, while the Wi-Fi + 3G models with similar capacities have been priced at £529, £599 and £699 respectively.
