Lexus unveils Hybrid Bicycle

Lexus has unveiled its innovative “Hybrid Bicycle Concept” in Britain.

The Japanese firm said that its all-wheel drive hybrid bicycle concept is an electrically-assisted pedal-powered bicycle.

The bicycle’s frame is made of carbonfibre. It features firm’s 'L-finesse’ design language. The front wheel of the cycle gets power from the 240w electric motor and 25.9V lithium-ion battery, while the rear wheel is propelled by the rider.

The bicycle was first shown in 2009 at the Tokyo motor show and is now being shown in Britain to mark Lexus’s sponsorship of the Great British Bike Ride, which is a charity event from Land’s End to Twickenham.

Lexus has no plans to go for a mass-production of the bicycle.
