Hideo Kojima has announced that the much-anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP will be released on Wednesday in Japan.

The translated version of Kojima’s tweet reads as: “On Wednesday, there will be a big Peace Walker announcement.”

He added that gamers could not realize the pleasure of Peace Walker until they have played it. The tweet also suggested that he had high hopes from the upcoming game.

Reports also suggest that Kojima would hold a press conference to announce the release of the game.

The game is expected to hit North America and Britain on June 8 and June 18 respectively.
