Northern sea ice growth is not end of climate change: researcher

After experiencing startling declines in ice over the past many years, Northern Sea has reportedly gained almost the average levels of ice again, the National Snow & Ice Data Center said.

The report of growth in Northern Sea ice has emerged when ice is normally melting around the globe.

The Danish Meteorological Institute also showed Arctic ice growth at the highest level in the past sex years.

But, Mark Serreze of the U. S-based NSIDC said that a few weeks of cold weather in one part of the Arctic does not stand for the end of climate change.

Mr. Serreze argued that the level of ice in most of the Northern Sea, eastern regions of Canada, were still well below average. He further added that weather is local and short-term, while climate covers a large span of time and space.
