Just Cause 2, the sandbox action game, has been crowned number1 in the UK gaming circuit, as compiled by Chart Track. Just Cause 2 has managed to outstand its original game, which had only managed to reach the number2 spot.

Just Cause beats the new Pokémon Soulsilver on the Nintendo DS, which was ranked at number 2 with Pokémon Heartgold at number. 4. In between them is Battlefield: Bad Company 2, EA’s shooter which has been selling like hot cakes.

Modern Warfare 2, which is almost on its way out, has managed to make a strong come back, moving back up the charts to number 6 from number 9. Whereas last week’s top game, God of War III, has slipped considerably to number 7, closely followed by Final Fantasy XIII at number eight.

The top ten are rounded off by Wii Sports Resort at number 9 and Wii Fit Plus at number 10.
