Japan’s gaming giant Nintendo is getting ready to launch a portable 3D gaming console called the “Nintendo 3DS”.

The new gaming device, which will be able to play three dimensional games, is expected to extend the company’s Nintendo DS series of handheld gaming devices.

The most striking feature of the Nintendo 3DS is that it will not require players to wear special glasses to play 3D games.

Company sold around 125 million units of its existing DS series of portable gaming consoles by last year.

Nintendo did not disclose the pricing details of the new console. The company said more details about the upcoming gaming console would be announced at E3 Expo, which would be held in Los Angeles in June this year.
