Sharon Osbourne defends tax-dodger Gary Barlow
English television host & talent competition judge Sharon Osbourne has defended Gary Barlow after he was caught up in a row over tax avoidance.
A few days back, a tax judge ruled that Take That singer Gary and his band-mates Mark Owen and Howard Donald's investments in a company were merely a plan to avoid tax.
Following the ruling, Gary suffered severe criticism both in the media and on social networks like twitter. The former X Factor judge is now facing a tax bill of up to £20 million to the taxman.
But Sharon defended her X Factor co-star Gary, arguing that Gary had yet to tell his side of the story.
Defending Gary, Sharon said on Twitter, "@GaryBarlow is a good, standup man. He needs everyone's support. Remember, there are two sides to every story. He is a decent human being."
Sharon is not the only high-profile personality that has come forward in support of Gary. Prime Minister David Cameron turned down calls that Gary should be stripped off the OBE that he was awarded in 2012.
Cameron said the tax scandal shouldn't force Gary to hand back the OBE admiration as it was awarded to him for his noble works, such as raising money for charity and providing help to needy children.
