ASG inks $23 million, three-year contract with WA Department of Education

With its $23 million, three-year agreement with the Department of Education in Western Australia (WA) coming through, the ASG Group – an ASX-listed services provider – will supply IT services to the Department.

The contract, which is extendable for another two years, will require ASG to supply to the Department IT services like Oracle applications management, database administration and server operations, pertaining to “all critical corporate applications including HR, payroll and finance.”

Noting that ASG is already supplying satisfactory services to the Department, CIO Bevan Doyle said the Department had “enjoyed a close working relationship with ASG for many years and during this time ASG has provided essential services and built a strong understanding of the Department’s mission critical Oracle applications environment.”

The business magnitude of ASG further stands to gain considerably in case the Department, putting into effect its discretion under the new deal, extends to the IT services’ provider a strategic partnership for its corporate and enterprise applications.

ASG said that in case the extended collaboration with the Western Australian Education department materializes, it would get the opportunity to offer much more enhanced applications support, managed and project services, and database administration of “selected Oracle stack applications”, which would also include the Oracle student learning application that has been installed at 300 schools in the state.
