Dark chocolate is good for you and this is what scientists say as it can help in keeping heart problems and diabetes away.
It was stated that a comparison between the effectiveness of drugs and chocolates cannot be made but there are no side-effects of dark chocolates whereas drugs have side effects, depending on circumstances.
Scientists took a mathematical model to predict the effects as well as the cost effectiveness of dark chocolates. People were assessed for about 10 years.
These people were sufferers of metabolic syndrome and in this people have obesity, increased blood pressure, high fat present in the blood and cannot control blood sugar levels. All these people were free from diabetes, heart problems and no one took blood pressure drugs.
Per 10,000 people treated over a decade, 70 non-fatal and 15 fatal cardiovascular events can be averted by a daily consumption of 100g of dark chocolate.
It was stated, “Research has suggested that eating a small amount of dark chocolate every day could reduce the risk of stroke or heart disease. However, it is important to remember not to overindulge.”
