Nokia to roll out Windows Phone handsets

At Nokia's annual trade show in London on Wednesday, the Finland-based handset-maker will reportedly unveil three new smartphones --- the company's first Windows Phone handsets.

Going by the leaked details that have been making rounds, the handsets that Nokia will unveil at the show will include the Nokia 800 - codenamed SeaRay; the Ace; and the Sabre. These handsets will probably hit the stores in mid-November.

As per the press shots that were released this week, the Nokia 800 - with a body similar to the Nokia N9 handset - will feature a curved glass 3.7-inch screen, and an 8-megapixel camera; and will be available in a black, light blue or pink casing.

The Sabre, fairly akin in appearance to the Apple iPhone, will have a white frame-bordered 3.5-inch screen, and a 5-megapixel camera. The retail price of the 'unlocked' handset, according to Pocketnow. com, will be in the range of between £260 and £300 sans a SIM card.

The Ace, which has apparently been designed keeping in mind the needs of business users, will probably have an 8-megapixel camera; and will feature a keyboard, with a slide screen on top. The handset will have a black with silver detailing.

It is being reported that the first Windows handsets will feature Microsoft's 'Mango' edition of the Windows Phone - a version over which Nokia had no influence while it was being developed. However, the design of the next Windows Phone iteration, codenamed Apollo, will be developed with inputs from Nokia; and will likely be released next year.
