Microsoft continues to focus on Windows Phone 7

Even though Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 has been facing quite a number of problems in the first few months, the company continues to push the platform, in most cases harder than what it did earlier. But then, there is no hope left for the company as it is the best possible hope for it to get a market in the smartphone arena.

Google's Android and Apple's iPhone have already eaten into the same market and Microsoft needs to do something out of the way to be able to displace them. Then there are Research In Motion's BlackBerry franchise and the Palm devices.

Microsoft wants to do what Palm has been able to do for HP brand. Some analysts have shown in their estimates that Microsoft has already spent millions of dollars on the project and is expected to be spending even more.

It has also recently signed a deal with Nokia wherein it will be porting onto the smartphones produced by the latter. They both expect that the agreement is going to help them in boosting the market shares of each one of them in the long standing battle.
