Operation Red Nose Enjoys MP’s Praise during House Meeting
Daryl Kramp

Earlier this week the House of Commons was filled with praise for the Operation Red Nose Quinte programme. MP Daryl Kramp applauded the organisation for its long success in offering escort services during the holiday season to those who do not feel capable of driving.

He said: “Mr. Speaker, as the Christmas season will soon be upon us before we know it, I would like to take this moment to pay tribute to a group of volunteers in my riding who go above and beyond in their quest to make everyone’s holiday a safe and happy one.”

Mr. Kramp said that the programme had “been a wonderful community service” since 1997, volunteering hours of time to provide drives home from festive events and parties for people who were too inebriated, fatigued or otherwise incapable of driving themselves. Last Christmas season alone, the Red Nose volunteers provided more than 3,000 rides, logging over 46,000 kilometres.

“On behalf of the residents of Prince Edward-Hastings, I wish to commend the tireless efforts of past chairs, this year's honorary chair, Boyd Sullivan, and the volunteers at Operation Red Nose Quinte.” Mr. Kramp finished by saying: “I thank them all for keeping so many of us safe during the most magical time of the year.”
