Mary MacKillop’ Canonization Attracted Over 6000 Prayers

Now, even the prayer has become digital with the launch of the website of the Sisters of St Joseph. The website was loaded with more than 6000 prayers after the canonization of Mary MacKillop.

The website put forwards the way prayers are conducted in a traditional manner. MacKillop is worshipped by Catholics for every small to big reason. The website sees prayers for the results of biopsies, for lumps in breasts, for paralyzed patients, for litigation purposes, for settlements, for exam results and many more.

Sister Annette Arnold, the website's congregational co-ordinator said, ''We actually don't pray to Mary MacKillop. We pray to God through Mary MacKillop's intercession. It's an important distinction. That's where people say you get into idolatry''.

The charge of addressing the issues lying on the site is provided to six sisters; three in Sydney, one in Ireland, one in South Australia and one in New Zealand. They conduct a meeting on Skype once a month to discuss the matters related to the technology and the pastoral care of the people, who has lodged their prayers.

In order to monitor the prayers, there is a team of people, as told by Sister Arnold. She also added that the prayers, which are obscene in nature, are removed from the site.
