Chillies Can Help in Fighting Diabetes

Scientists in Australia are looking for volunteers for a new research, which would revolve around the link between chillies and lifestyle-related diabetes. The research will require around 35 people, who are suffering from Type-2 diabetes.

The study is being conducted as a prior study on the consumption of chillies and had shown that an increased consumption of chilli can help reduce the heart rate of a person. Apart from that, the amount of insulin required to control the blood sugar of a patient can see a steep fall as well.

The research would be conducted at the University of Tasmania and according to one of the researchers, Sibella King, the study might show immense benefits for the sufferers. King further stated that all the scientists related to the research were hoping that the study would show that a diet rich in chillies is good for people suffering from Type-2 diabetes.

King felt that by controlling the blood sugar of patients suffering from Type2-diabetes, it would also prove to be beneficial in reducing the chances of cardiovascular diseases among patients.

The study would involve the participants in the study eating their normal diet in the beginning, followed by the addition of 30grams of chilli paste in their food on a daily basis. Ms. King is hoping that the study would show that consuming chillies is an easy, effective and a cheap way of controlling blood sugar.
