HTC announces its upcoming WP7-based handsets

Handset manufacturer HTC Corp has confirmed the upcoming availability of a range of Windows Phone 7-based handsets, including the HTC 7 Surround, the HTC 7 Mozart, HTC HD7 and HTC 7 Trophy.

The HTC 7 Surround will be available at AT&T on two-year contract, but it can also be had SIM-free from Best Buy for $550. The HTC HD7 will reportedly be available exclusively on the airwaves of SingTel; the HTC 7 Mozart will go exclusively at StarHub, while HTC 7 Trophy will land at M1.

The HTC 7 Surround come equipped with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video capabilities and a 3.8-inch screen with a resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. Other striking features of the Surround include 512MB of ROM, 576MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1.

The HTC 7 Mozart, which is fabricated from one piece of anodized aluminum, integrates same drivers as the HTC 7 Surround handset for producing sharp acoustics. It also sports SRS WOW HD feature.

As for the HTC HD7 smartphone features a 4.3-inch touchscreen. It is capable to take full advantage of the multimedia features that are included in the platform, and of the Xbox LIVE integration.

The HTC 7 Trophy is designed to provide a great Xbox LIVE gaming experience on its 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen, complemented by SRS WOW HD sound.

Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 operating system comes with new social networking features that bring updates and messages from social networking platforms such as Fcebook to appear automatically on the screen. It also brings Zune music, Xbox gaming platform and the Bing search engine.
