The detection of HIV positive in a porn star made many an adult film makers in US halting their production on Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, two major producers Vivid Entertainment and Wicked Pictures suspended production of their adult movies, as doctors recommended conducting HIV tests on porn stars. Two more adult film Companies, Hustler Video and Digital Playground, postponed their production on Thursday. There are expectations that many more Companies will follow suit.
Samantha Lewis, Chief Executive of Digital Playground said, "We've halted all productions until we can do whatever we can to find out who this actor has been in contact with".
The clinic that conducts HIV tests on porn actors and operates under the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM) has become the centre of attraction. It stated that to detect more infection in the adult industry, it would take up to two weeks.
It added that as for now, it was not possible to say that whether the patient got affected with HIV while on the sets or somewhere else.
There are calls for the use of condoms by porn stars, following the latest incident of patient with HIV positive. But, Lewis was of the view that they could not force actors to use condoms on grounds of their comfort.
