More Awareness Required for Mental Illnesses

For those few people who suffer from depression, life’s road can be a very lonely affair. Another set of people who have a very tiring life are those people who suffer from anxiety disorder. Life is an ordeal for the set of people
suffering from these two disorders.

The number of people suffering from anxiety and depression are not in a small amount in Australia. In fact, according to estimates, the numbers of people suffering from anxiety in Australia amount to 2million people, whereas, the
number of people suffering depression round-up to a figure of 1 million.

The National mental Health Day was observed in Australia yesterday and health centers across the country were busy in raising awareness about anxiety disorder and depression.

Ms. Joan Murphy, the manager for Wellington Community and Allied Health Services while talking about the two disorders ensured that the two problems were not something to be scared of. She added these disorder were not
contagious and don’t transmit from one person to another.

These two illnesses, with proper medication can be remedied and as a community, people should understand that such illnesses should not be feared off. She further added that Wellington’s health center was doing its level best
to spread awareness about mental disorders.
