Microsoft and Sky have confirmed that the Sky Player app on the Xbox 360 console will support upcoming Kinect motion sensor.
That means Brits will be able to browse through Sky Player EPGs, pause live TV programs, rewind and fast-forward programmes just with the help of hand gestures. In addition, there will be scope for voice control when Microsoft’s motion sensor device for Xbox 360 will hit the UK on 10th of November this year.
Commenting on the topic, the companies said, “Selecting a favourite show, changing live channels, or easily scrolling forward and back through on-demand content is all made possible by a simple wave of a hand.”
Sky Player has been bringing a wide variety of programmes such as movies and sports to Xbox 360 consoles for around the past one year.
Sky Player is accessible by anyone with an Xbox Live Gold Membership and a broadband connection with a minimum download speed of at least 2Mbps. However, to access Sky Player content customers must also have a Sky Player subscription or a Sky TV. Those who do not have a Sky box can enjoy the service by paying out £15 a month.
Kinect will cost $149. The motion senor will also be available a part of several bundles.
