Vodafone and 3 to offer HTC Desire HD in Australia

Celebrated handset manufacturer HTC Corporation’s recently announced Android-based HTC Desire HD smartphone will be available in Australia on the airwaves of Vodafone and 3.

No comments have been made on the pricing or release date of the much awaited handset. Vodafone Australia's blog commented, “Pricing and availability will be announced closer to the launch date.”

However, Vodafone is expected to launch the HTC Desire HD next month. The Vodafone could also offer the handset for free at selective plans.

The HTC Desire HD smartphone comes equipped with a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display, 8-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities and a 1GHz Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon processor.

The device runs Android 2.2 operating system with new Sense UI. Other striking features of the handset include 768MB of RAM, HSPA, WiFi and GPS.

Separately, mobile phone operator T-Mobile UK is also carrying the HTC Desire HD smartphone, which could be launched next month.
