Charity Dinner Raises $40,000 in Less than Four Hours

The 2010 Queensland Supply Chain and Logistics Conference dinner was conducted for a charity purpose. In less than four hours, as many as $40,000 amount was collected from the charity dinner.

Foodbank was the 2010 chosen charity, including two local charities called Mama Rene’s Foundation and the YMCA school breakfast program.

The money for the charity was generated from lucky draws and auction events.

Mama Rene’s Foundation got more than 33 trays of fresh fruit from Costa Logistics on the first day of the conference.

The guests who came to the conference dinner got inspired by the speech of Pastor John Dowell, who along with his wife is the owner of the Mama Rene’s Foundation for the destitutes in Fortitude Valley.

George Weston Foods at the dinner party declared that $20,000 worth of bread would be donated to the YMCA for its school breakfast program.

It is apposite to note that in the past eight years, as many as $500,000 money has been generated through the event for different charitable trusts throughout Australia and Africa.

Haymans Electrical also organised a dinner entertainment program and invited speed-painter Brad Blaze.
