Fight Against Swine Flu Gets More Intense
 Swine Flu

The fight against the deadly swine flu is bound to get more intense as the Government has decided to stockpile the vaccinations which help in preventing the fatal disease. It has been reported that millions of doses and free shots have already been stocked up by retailers.

According to Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary, Health and Human Services, Medicare and various other private insurers with health plans would have to cover the swine flu vaccinations without any deductions.

She further stated that the Federal Affordable Care Act would ensure free provision of the vaccination and would also cover all children under the Federal Vaccines for Children Program.

The development of making the cost barrier less effective would definitely help in more people getting vaccinated for the flu and would also further help in reducing the spread of the disease. Health officials have further stated that the vaccinations have been recommended for all except children below the age of 6 months or children who have egg allergies.

In order to protect people with a weakening immune system like people who are over the age of 65, drug makers have come out with stronger vaccinations.

The vaccination that has come out this year has been stated to protect three kind of viruses of the flu, H1N1 being one of them; it would also protect against a flu virus known as H3N2, which is stated to be a fatal virus.
