Plans to Expand Adelaide Casino

It has been reported that Adelaide Casino is planning to invest $250 million in order to accomplish its wish to spread out itself to the banks of the River Torrens. This investment will also be backing the plans of the Government for the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval and the growth of a Convention Centre in the riverbank area.

It has been planned that new bars will be introduced in the casino and more gaming facilities will be provided. The discussions for the same are in progress, said Adelaide Casino General Manager David Christian.

He added, “Adelaide Casio is one of several major tourist destinations that call the riverbank precinct its home and we are excited by the opportunity to develop the casino into a venue that will help revitalise the city fringe”.

Also, for this redevelopment project of Adelaide Oval, even the football and cricket chiefs of South Africa have agreed. With this, it is expected that by the year 2014, this area might become the local home of international cricket and the AFL.

In addition to this, the expansion of Adelaide Casino is the need of hour, because the gambling floors in Sydney and Melbourne are much ahead in competition with those in Auckland and Adelaide. Therefore, the SkyCity Entertainment is also encouraging the growth of the casinos in the region.
