Several Salad Products Being Recalled From Market Due to Listeria Risk

Fresh Express, a salad Company, has for the third time withdrawn several of its salad products from the market due to the fear of being infected with bacteria Listeria monocytogenes.

Fresh Express issued a statement saying that the Company is willingly recalling its 2,825 Veggie Lover’s Salad, which might be having Listeria in them and could pose a threat to health of the consumers.

The Company has requested the consumers that if they have by chance bought the salad packets which have the product or identifier code I-208 and a freshness date of August 10, then they should immediately discard those packets or return them to Tops.

Ed Loyd, Fresh Express spokesperson, stated that there are 12 salad packets in each container, which means that around 30,000 bags out of 720 million bags are being recalled.

It is worth mentioning that in the previous month also the Company had to recall its salad packets, which were found to be infected with Escherichia coli.

When Food and Drug Administration reported the presence of Salmonella in ready-made salads, the Company had to again pull back many salad packages from the market in the month of May.

As per FDA, no case of infection has been noted so far, and the order to recall the salad products is a precautionary step.
