The adopters now will have the privilege to price the cats as per their will, which of course will be something more than $25. The Dubuque Regional Humane Society has put forth, the ‘Pick Your Price’, adoption scheme.
This price will be inclusive of neuter surgery, rabies and distemper vaccinations and the adopters will be free to choose any cat, they are willing to adopt.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Challenge contest is offering a cash prize of $100K prize and the local humane society is working hard to somehow get all of the animals adopted.
The shelter that is successful in saving more than 300 lives, will be the winner and this local humane society, is reportedly one of the smallest in comparison to the 50 shelters competing for the prize money.
The cats available for adoption can be adopted from 4 different locations the main shelter, Kennedy Mall Animal Adoption Center, every month from PETCO and during August and September from Petsmart.
The challenge will be ending by Oct. 31 and till then, be ready to experience the huge variety of adoption promotions offered by the local humane society.
Julie Edwards, Director of Development and Marketing at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia says that adoptions rates were slower at this time of the year.
"It is summer, and people are getting ready to go back to school. But we actually adopted eight animals yesterday, which was awesome”, she added.
