Fame is a vacuous thing: says Steven Holmes

Stephen Holmes, who has been followed by US rapper Kanye West on his Twitter account since last Saturday has fed up with fame.

Mr. Holmes from Coventry in the UK started attracting huge attention ever since Kanye West chosen him to follow on the social networking site. The number of Mr. Holmes's followers on the site has jumped from mere 60 to more than 1,500.

Mr. Homes he was very happy to be followed by the rap superstar, but now he started feeling pressure with soaring number of tweets on the site

Commenting on the topic, Mr. Holmes said, "Fame is a vacuous thing and has never appealed to me. I think there's an obsession with celebrity culture.”

He added that he was of the thinking that it would be cool to have a celebrity following him on Twitter but it is really not worth it. The condition became completely surreal for him. He further said that he was a normal person, and he had no craving for undue attention.

He said he felt pressurized by hundreds of messages from people he even didn't know, and his phone kept bleeping.

Stephen Holmes said he liked Kanye West’s music, but he was not his biggest fan.
