Electronic Cigarettes Develop Fans, But FDA Not Convinced

Although, electronic cigarettes have developed a fan base but the Food and Drug Administration has still not approved the gadget. Moreover, they are making efforts to stop such products from entering the country.

In the scenario of strict indoor clean air laws, you are legally allowed to puff away in public places such as restaurants, movie theaters or even on planes.

To puff away at public places what you need to do is to buy a cigarette that runs on battery. Electronic cigarettes are battery powered and it consists of nicotine fine spray, which does not produce any flame or smoke.

Some people are using electronic cigarettes to quit smoking real cigarettes, which consists of tobacco and some use these electric gadgets to enjoy smoking at public places where smoking is not prohibited.

FDA does not consider e-cigarettes as an aid to quit smoking, so they have not approved the gadget. The users of e-cigarettes have loudly and clearly declared their allegiance to the gadget on blogs and message boards.

E-cigarettes are sold online at the occasional mall kiosk and in some bars and restaurants with no age restrictions. The device comes with replaceable cartridges consisting different levels of nicotine.

“The e-cigarettes have never been studied for smoking cessation, so nobody knows if they are any more or less effective than other nicotine replacement products such as gums or patches”, said Director of the Clinical Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory, Thomas Eissenberg, from Commonwealth University in Richmond.
