A recent survey of 1,000 people who have undergone cosmetic surgery by the Harley Medical Group has revealed that more than 85% of the patients prefer to keep the surgery a secret from their friends and colleagues. Almost 1 patient in 5, however, does not mentioned this even to the family.
According to the survey, men are more likely to stay mum about undergoing the procedure, with 94% of them not telling their colleagues, compared to 78% of the women. On the friends front too, men prefer to keep the treatment a secret. Only 27% of the women do not confide about the procedure to their friends, as opposed to 52% men.
"Many patients will keep quiet in the lead up to their surgery and intend to keep it hidden but can't help revealing their secret when it comes to the unveiling of their new stomach or boobs. However, celebrities are a different matter altogether and if they've decided to keep their plastic surgery, botox or other cosmetic treatments under wraps they really keep quiet, or even outright deny it", Harley Medical Group's Director, Liz Dale.
Recent figures shared by a private cosmetic surgeon have revealed that the procedure is now more popular than ever, with month-on-month enquiries recording a 24% rise.
